Aug 7, 2011 Evening Update

8:15 PM: After the round of moderate rain last night, scattered storms are affecting the region due to a low pressure just north of the area. Most of the storms so far today stayed to the north of the area, but there is an area of strong storms stretching from West Passaic to central Rockland and northern Westchester counties, moving ESE. Places that will be affected by these storms within the next 1/2 hour include Fairfield county in CT, Rockland/Westchester/Bronx in NY, and northern Bergen in NJ.

Other updates may be posted tonight if necessary, otherwise the next update will be posted tonight, discussing the stormy start to this week.
