Oct 24, 2011 Noon Update

5:15 PM: Stormy Weekend Now Expected

Since last night's update, some changes have taken place with the forecast. A colder storm is expected for Thursday than last night's update expected, with high temperatures likely in the 40s and 50s across the area. The most significant change in the forecast is for this weekend, however, as the model guidance last night and this morning began trending towards a coastal low affecting the region, which would be the first nor'easter of this fall. There is still uncertainty with this storm as this only recently showed up in the forecast, but if the latest trends continue, a significant rain event may affect the area on Saturday and Saturday night, and an accumulating snowstorm may be possible as well in the interior Northeast. Tonight's update will discuss these two storms in more detail, including storm maps.
