Sept 13, 2011 Evening Update

6:20 PM: Forecast Change For Thursday

Over the last 24 hours, there have been noticeable changes with the models regarding Thursday, with the model guidance trending stronger with a low pressure in Canada, which then brings a stronger cold front through the area with more widespread rain than previously expected. Widespread heavy rain like what the area saw a week ago is not expected, but this front will still be capable of producing widespread moderate rain and thunderstorms during the day on Thursday. Rainfall amounts are expected to range from 1/4 to 3/4 inch across the area, with locally higher amounts possible west of NYC.

The 5-Day Forecast page has been updated to reflect this change in the forecast, and tonight's update will discuss this change in more details.
