8:50 PM: An area of strong to severe thunderstorms near east central NY is moving towards the southeast, but may shift directions towards the SSE. These storms are capable of producing heavy rainfall, hail, and gusty winds. While it is possible that they weaken before reaching the area, they will mostly target places north and east of NYC, towards SW Connecticut, if they don't collapse. Places from NYC and further west are likely to stay dry.Stay tuned for another update within the next hour about the heat, tomorrow's evening storms, and what we may see for next weekend and beyond.
