Jan 2, 2012 Noon Update
3:55 PM: Lake Effect Snow Showers
With yesterday's cold front out of the region, bringing widespread light to moderate rain across the area in the evening hours, widespread lake effect snow squalls have developed across the region. These squalls are focused over the typical lake effect snow areas, in New York and central/western Pennsylvania, although isolated snow showers are likely to affect the western parts of the area through tonight and into Tuesday, especially focusing over northern New Jersey west of NYC and SE New York.
A brief update will be posted later tonight on the upcoming significant cold spell. A longer discussion including an updated 5-day forecast will be posted tomorrow.
